on Measuring Progress
City
of Santa Monica, California
The City of Santa Monica adopted a Sustainable City Program
in 1994. The program has two main elements: a set of Guiding
Principles and a set of sixteen indicators developed by the
Task Force on the Environment and City staff, with input from
local residents, that are used to assess progress toward city
goals.
